In honor of this half Brit's big Easter holiday 'round the bend, I thought I'd bring this egg-cellent beer out from hiding. Hop Henge IPA is part of Deschutes Brewery Bond St. Series, inspired by their Public House on Bond St in Bend, Oregon.
Hop Henge is a blend of "Centennial, Cascade, and dry hops with Crystal, Pale, and biscuity Carastan malts." The name came about when the brewers decided to recreate Stonehenge out of hop bales, you know, just for jolly good fun.
The Washdown:
- thick headed, amber colored, hoppy and smooth mouth feel Hop Henge IPA (Deschutes Brewery, OR) ABV 9.0%
Unlike Stonehenge, this beer doesn't really stand out, but that's not to say it's bad either. It's a great neutral choice whether you're enjoying Fish 'N Chips or Easter Ham. Citrusy glaze with small hints of bitter Pine, the high alcohol content and very drinkable mouthfeel perk up any un/favorable family dinner.
Hoppy Easter!
