With Prince William & Kate Middleton's Royal North America Tour about to end, what better way to say "Cheerio" than with a brilliant Imperial IPA – Drake's Denogginizer – a pure Southern California original. Although the Brits may have started this IPA style, it was an American Southwesterner who improved on their old recipe (by accident) by adding additional Malts and Hops to give this brew even more bloody kick.
The Washdown:
- dark amber colored, bitter nose, two finger head, malty mouth feel, mild 'n boozy hop finish Denogginizer Imperial IPA (Drakes Brewing Co. in San Leandro, CA) ABV 10%
This pint packs on the ABVs without too much bite, except in the finale. Upon first sip, flavors of Malt and Honey hit your lips with a warm, almost creamy, sensation. Down the hatch, and those sweet flavors are snatched up by bold bitter Hops.
The complexity of Drake's Denogginzer will definitely make Your noggin spin, and The Queen's pinky shoot upright.
